Winemaking Notes
From both the Spring Vale and Melrose vineyards. Soils are a combination old red loams of volcanic origin at Spring Vale and grey alluvial loams at Melrose. A nearly even split of G9V7 and I10V3 clones were harvested and pressed, separating free run and pressing portions of the juice for fining and clarification by floatation. Fermented in a combination of stainless steel and aged French barriques then kept on lees for 5 months, following which the blended wine was fined for stability.
Tasting Notes
The Spring Vale 2025 Melrose Chardonnay displays vibrant stone fruit, melon and citrus blossom aromas with subtle mixed spice. Pristine fruit on the palate shines through and is in harmony with fresh citrus zest acidity. Serve lightly chilled and enjoy with the array of fresh seafood that the Tasmanian east coast has to offer.
